SDA Tutorial--Finding Variables

In the first line of the table, three variables are analyzed.  They are:

Mnemonic Description
netime Total time spent on the Internet, combining all of the e-mail and Web time (hours, 1 decimal place).
emtime Combination of e-mail hours and minutes.  Set to zero if 'compuse' is 'no'.
wwwtime Combination of WWW hours and minutes.  Set to zero if both 'compuse' and 'webtv' are 'no'

Information on all the variables can be found in the online GSS codebook.  Clicking on the previous link should open a new window with variable categories on the left.  These categories provide a number of different ways of searching for variables. 

For example, open the codebook, then click on "Alphabetical Order" in the frame on the left.  Scroll down and find the variable emtime.  Click on this variable to examine the frequency distribution of this measure.
