You have Completed the Basic Tutorial

Congratulations!  If you have made it this far, you have probably completed the most important parts of the tutorial.  That is, you have successfully replicated the numbers shown in the first row of the report, "Estimated Internet Usage Differences by Basic General Social Survey Demographics."  If so, you are now ready to complete the tutorial.

To complete the tutorial you should use SDA to work through the entire table, replicating each reported finding.  This requires that you understand recoding variables and filters, how to use the online codebook, as well as how the SDA form submission process works.

There are more advanced statistical analyses that can be performed with SDA, all based on this rudimentary information.

To get you started, the following mnemonics identify the variables that were used in the remainder of the table.  We suggest that you find them in the codebook to see what is being measured, and then try your hand at the analysis!

sex hrs1/hrs2 xnorcsiz
race marital dwelling
age babies dwelown
degree preteen
rincom98 teens
